2020 APPA Roadshow Officially Cancelled

As part of its overall response to today’s evolving business environment, the APPA Board has made the incredibly tough decision to cancel the 2020 Roadshow (which was scheduled to be held 31 August-9 September).

This decision came after careful consideration of the extraordinary circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The cancellation of the event removes uncertainty for all event stakeholders and ensures the safety of all members.

With so many unknowns, including the status of COVID-19 moving forward, restrictions on travel, potential venue capacity restraints and general sentiment that may affect attendance, these factors culminated in our decision to cancel.

We are committed to enshrining 2020 as the year of APPA’s reinvention. Just like so many of our resilient members, APPA has adapted to life during this pandemic better than originally forecast. With great pride we have proven that our Association can continuously stimulate wave after wave of participation and engagement among members.

But we aren’t stopping now! APPA is looking forward to the next six months, the course of which will be based on an online focused, proactive member- engagement plan to provide the connection, information and resources you will need to emerge from this tumultuous era a smarter leader and a stronger competitor.

We will remain nimble and this plan will be fluid. As restrictions ease, we aim to also include an opportunity for our industry to reunite by bringing our members and community back together in person, however that may look.

And of course, our plans carry on for the Roadshow to be back in March 2021.

Other exciting projects are underway too - background work on APPA Search has begun, a volunteer structure is underway, projects within the strategic plan will come forward, internal systems will improve and more.

While we may yet still see the full impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, APPA will be with you as we keep moving forward together.

As always, thank you for your support and please continue to reach out if there's anything we can do to help you and your business.
