APPA Launches Ethical Sourcing and Modern Slavery Policy

APPA members now have access to a new free member resource – an Ethical Sourcing and Modern Slavery Policy.

APPA recognises that our members operate in a potentially high-risk industry sector for modern slavery.

While many of our members are not reporting entities under the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth), together we are committed to working towards assessing and addressing modern slavery risks. We acknowledge that our sector is coming under increasing pressure from customers and stakeholders to demonstrate commitment and take practical steps to manage modern slavery risk in our operations and supply chains.

Our goal is to promote good business practice that meet the highest industry and community standards and provides leadership across our sector. To this end, APPA has developed an Ethical Sourcing and Modern Slavery Policy for members. Whilst having a policy is an important first step, it alone will not manage actual or potential risks facing a business – or help protect vulnerable people working in supply chains.

The Policy must be integrated into members’ business practices, and not regarded as a tick-box solution to winning or keeping business.

Members interested in accessing the Policy must email APPA CEO at

If you missed APPA’s recent Modern Slavery Seminar when this Policy was launched, you can watch the recording in the Resources section of the APPA website (members must be logged in).
