Meet The APPA Team

With so much going on at APPA, members are often suprised to learn just how small the team is.

Wesley, Kirsten, Ida and Cath are a hardworking, close-knit team whose names you might recognise from your email inbox. So who are the people behind the email signatures and famous red logo?

When I’m not working I’m ideally: Hitting the bends of the roads on my motorbike!
Milking cows for the rest of my life wasn’t going to be for me, so I left the family farm and headed straight to the big smoke. A couple of years after gaining a Bachelor of Business (major in marketing) and a Postgrad in Public Relations, I travelled Europe for 12 months before settling down to marriage, a mortgage and kids. Playing sport was always a great passion of mine (football, cricket, waterskiing, motocross, golf, etc.), but for a quite a few years now, barefoot bowls has been more my pace and watching my kids (Emma and Zoe) participate in their range of activities. I’m still a country boy at heart and have the need to escape Melbourne on a very regular basis back to the farm, Phillip Island and other parts of country Victoria to get away from it all.

Kirsten Fisers, Membership Officer
Promo products at home: At least 20 APPA branded pens (why are there so many in my house?!)
When I’m not working I’m ideally: Getting my ten thousand steps with Tiny the pug
After high school I studied journalism for a year, then law for a few years, but couldn't shake my creative tendencies. I'm a writer by heart and an absolute nerd when it comes to current affairs and things happening around the world! I'm currently undertaking a Bachelor of Marketing (Advertising) and loving it- so who knows, maybe I'll be an APPA member oneday?

Ida Laino, Events and Education Manager
Promo products at home:  None at the moment apart from a JS Supplies pen
When I’m not working I’m ideally: Baking up a storm
Living and breathing exhibitions is me, borderline workaholic, who am I kidding – I love working! I am proud, passionate and persistent. People find me to be upbeat, quirky, and fun-loving. I have an amazing partner who has given me the stepmother title to his lovable dog Lucky. I try to treat myself once a year with an overseas holiday, my last trip landed me in Finland, Italy and Egypt over the Christmas break. When I am not organising my next itinerary, you will find me in the kitchen baking up a storm, lets face it who doesn’t like desserts, whether its sweet or savoury. My baking adventures take me down memory lane to my Italian heritage and the days I used to bake with my grandparents. In my spare time you will find me at the gym 4-5 times a week, discovering new restaurants and spending time with family and friends.

Cath Williams, Finance and Administration
Promo products at home: Air New Zealand pen, Dexion stubby holder, APPA Roadshow 2018 tradeshow bag.
When I’m not working I’m ideally: Somewhere warm. See you by the pool in Port Douglas.
Born and raised in Melbourne, I hold a Bachelor of Commerce and have experience in finance and admin roles across a range of industries including auto parts, education, architecture and packaging. I love to travel but my daughters aged 5 and 2 keep me close to home for the moment and once frequent outings to comedy and action movies at the cinema have been replaced by Baby Shark and Bluey. On the rare occasion I’m home alone I’m usually cleaning the house with “…And Justice for All” by Metallica turned up to 11. If I’m allowed out, you’ll find me at the pub with a chicken parma.
