Paul Zammit recognised in the Queen’s Birthday 2020 Honours List
Paul Zammit, founder of Zammit Promotional Products, has been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday 2020 Honours List.
Mr Zammit said “It came as a total but pleasant surprise and a great honour to have been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), as announced in the Queen’s Birthday 2020 Honours List and as approved by the Governor General in his capacity as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, with effect from the 8th of June 2020.
It has often been said that a society is judged by the way they treat those who are marginalised and least advantaged. I have always been of the view that we live in an extremely lucky country, that we are very fortunate to be Australians and that we should always do whatever we can to put something back into our community so as to express our ongoing gratitude in a tangible way.
Whatever voluntary service I have done over the past 30 or so years to assist individuals and organisations in our community is no more and no less than what countless others of our fellow Australians are doing on a daily basis, never seeking recognition nor any Awards as I have been so fortunate to have just received.
I am also very proud of the fact that my wife, Rita, Co-Director of Zammit Promotional Products was awarded her own OAM, 6 years ago.
Zammit Sales Marketing and Management P/L was formed more than twenty years ago, trading as Zammit Promotional Products, and is a long-time and proud member of the Australasian Promotional Products Association (APPA).
Whilst Zammit Promotional Products over these past 20 + years has continued to develop and grow, nevertheless Rita and my own voluntary commitment to those who are marginalised and least advantaged in our society has not diminished, nor will it.”
