Account Manager/New Business Development

We are seeking candidates that have experience in the promotional products industry to join our Sydney-based team.

Based in the United Kingdom, with offices in Australia, Bangladesh, China and Pakistan, we collaborate with leading brands, crafting their strategies and delivering on their marketing campaigns.

Xcel is looking for a dynamic, proactive individual with promotional agency experience to grow and build our client base in Australia. This role will be perfect for someone looking for a new challenge and growth within a business.

The ideal candidate will be confident, outgoing, ambitious, and most importantly passionate about marketing and winning profitable business for the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Account Director with growth and development of new and existing clients
  • Plan and prioritize sales activities and customer prospecting achieving agreed business aims
  • Plan and manage portfolio according to agreed market development strategy
  • Manage product/service mix, pricing, and margins according to agreed aims
  • Respond to and follow up on sales enquiries
  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information
  • Work closely with the design department on creative presentations
  • Attend and present external customer meetings and internal meetings
  • Manage and write new tender proposals with support of senior management

Skills in Experience:

  • 2-3 years experience in Account Management/New Business
  • Key account level
  • Tenacious and highly motivated
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and well under pressure
  • Ability to translate client brief into range of product to meet client's expectations
  • Highly organized, methodical, and ability to multi-task successfully
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • A strong level of computer literacy, especially in using MS Office

This is a full time role (9am to 5pm). Meetings may be scheduled outside of regular working hours to accommodate time zones. This role is based in Sydney with a hybrid work from home / office arrangement.
